Listen to this discussion which took place at the last International Airport Summit on addressing workforce equity, diversity and inclusion for the future of the airport sector.

The World Economic Forum estimates that it is going to take 132 years to reach gender parity across the working industries, it may take even longer in the aviation industry”

*This panel discussion on ‘Addressing workforce diversity and inclusion took place at the International Airport Summit in November 2023*

If the aviation sector is to continue to thrive and secure its place in the future, it needs to attract and retain a motivated, diverse and skilled workforce. It is in human nature to want to belong, and the workplace is no exception. If candidates cannot see people that look like them in a potential workplace, then it may seem less attractive. If employees feel alienated in their working environment, they may seek employment elsewhere.

That is why airports must work to understand the demographics of their workforce and drive tailored initiatives that will bring individuals into the industry and inspire them to stay. In this panel you will:

  • Learn about the innovative solutions and concepts that can be used to attract and retain the best people
  • Discuss where we are as an industry with diversity and inclusion, and what more needs to be done
  • Understand how diversity and inclusion can positively impact people as well as business
