Watch this exclusive interview with the Air Service Development Manager, where she talks about the exciting regional changes in Phoenix.
International caught up with Alexandria Van Haren, Air Service Development Manager, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX).
Alexandria shared that PHX’s origin and destination (OND) traffic has grown significantly due 15% population growth in 2022 alone. They are also seeing seasonality flatten which is positive from a network planning perspective.
Aircraft shortages and pilot shortages remain a challenge but PHX is celebrating 2023 and having served the most passengers in their history – breaking their 2019 records, they are also working on a new concourse for Terminal 4, and completed their sky train in 2023.
For 2024, they are working on improvements to enable future growth. Phoenix is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S., they are the busiest three-runway airport in the world and have the largest luxury hotel construction pipeline in the U.S. So plenty to look forward to!
