China’s reopening meant that this face-to-face meeting with Carol Lobato, Deputy General Manager at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at Passenger Terminal Expo 2023 in Amsterdam was the first in three years! It was great to see Carol, and together with IAR’s Editor, Holly Miles, she discussed the reopening of China, the psychology around travelling again for the first time, welcoming back international travellers back to her airport, how they are able operate efficiently, how they are striving to be a “world-class” airport, providing a seamless and touch-free experience from curb-to-gate and how they foresee the rest of the year going.
