At the Routes Asia 2023 conference International Airport Review caught up with Melissa Stepovich, Marketing & Air Service Development Manager at Fairbanks International Airport in Alaska.
During the exclusive interview with International Airport Review, Melissa said that her airport is still recovering after the pandemic but they are very close to 2019 levels of passengers.
The airport has domestic routes and in the summer they have international routes with the key destination being Germany.
When asked to give her 30-second pitch on why an airline should fly to Fairbanks rather than a rival airport, Melissa replied that Alaska is one of the most beautiful states in the U.S. and in the world and they have a lot to offer. They are the closest airport to Denali National Park – the highest mountain range in North America, and they have the best opportunity to view northern lights. They are working hard to show the world and the country what they have to offer! Watch this space!
