At FTE Global in Las Vegas, we caught up with Arturo García-Alonso, Chief Operating Officer of Avports, We discussed the challenges that small to medium sized airports face, how they are promoting operational efficiency, the new 4-3 year lease and management agreement with Avports and the Tweed New Haven Airport Authority which opens the door for a $100 million airport expansion plus the controversy / resistance from the airport’s neighbours and how they have handled this.
Also on the agenda was Avports’ Memorandum of Understanding with Jaunt Air Mobility to join their Access Skyways infrastructure alliance. The alliance supports the integration of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft with airports and the aviation ecosystem.
