About the interviewee

Ivan Tan

Every day is a different day for me at Changi Airport. My colleagues and I in Corporate & Marketing Communications drive the brand marketing, PR, social media, online/offline advertising and corporate reputation programmes for Changi Airport and CAG in Singapore and overseas. We leverage the opportunities presented to us on digital and social platforms to better target our audiences.

Serving more than 60 million passengers each year and over 100 airlines, Changi Airport’s stakeholders are many and varied. We have the unique challenge of communicating with them across multiple channels and round-the-clock. And in this day and age of 24/7 news, being prepared for crisis and issues management is a must.

Prior to joining CAG, I was Deputy Managing Director at the Singapore office of Weber Shandwick. At the agency, my clients included Singapore blue chips as well as IPO candidates. I also supported the pitch by Genting International for the Sentosa Integrated Resort licence.

My career started at SingTel where I was Director (Corporate Communications) for six years following a two-year secondment to Belgacom, the Belgian telco based in Brussels.
