Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has congratulated QantasLink on the opening of its new gate lounge facility at the Domestic Terminal which was officially unveiled today by The Minister for Transport and Main Roads, the Hon. Scott Emerson and QantasLink Executive Manager, John Gissing.

The new gate lounge facility provides QantasLink customers with access to two additional boarding gates (5 and 6), a centrally located customer services desk, seating for 150 customers, and technology designed to assist customers travelling with specific needs. Featuring Qantas’ contemporary interior styling with an abundance of natural light, the new lounge will also be supported by a new QantasLink ground team committed to delivering the highest standard of customer service.

BAC CEO and Managing Director Julieanne Alroe said by investing in additional infrastructure QantasLink had solidified its commitment to Brisbane and Queensland.

“Brisbane is a major gateway for QantasLink and the opening of this new facility provides capacity and facilities to support future passenger growth as well as improving the overall passenger experience.

“With passenger figures at Brisbane Airport expected to increase to 50 million by 2023, BAC is also planning for the future, with a $100-million apron extension at the Domestic Terminal to cater specifically for the growth in regional flying,” Ms Alroe said.

The new QantasLink gate lounge further complements BAC’s $270-million Domestic Terminal Upgrade project which includes the new multi-level car park, upgrades to the Domestic Terminal road network, and an elevated Skywalk between the car parks and the terminal.
