This new flight from Qantas will give passengers direct access to this extensive and convenient range of services…
Sydney Airport has welcomed today’s launch by Qantas of the first flight to Dallas/Fort Worth.
The General Manager of Corporate Affairs for Sydney Airport, Rod Gilmour, congratulated Qantas on the new service which provides passengers with more choice when flying from Australia to North America.
“Dallas/Fort Worth is the eighth busiest airport in the world and the fourth busiest in the USA. With more than 57 million passengers last year, it is a key North American hub with extensive services across the USA and Central America.
“This new flight from Qantas will give passengers direct access to this extensive and convenient range of services.
“Qantas has provided passengers flying from Sydney with another option when travelling to North America. It gives Australians a very convenient option when travelling to Texas and the USA’s south-west. Texas is one of the fastest growing economic regions in the USA,” Mr Gilmour said.
Sydney Airport has the most extensive network of destinations of any airport in Australia and this new service means that passengers can now fly non-stop from Sydney to Dallas/Fort Worth in addition to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver as well as Honolulu.
The depth and range of Sydney Airport’s route network is the reason it is Australia’s national gateway.
The choice and frequency of routes and services is greater than at any other Australian airport and makes Sydney attractive to passengers, whether they are travelling for business or leisure.
The USA is one of the most important markets for Sydney’s tourism industry. There were more than 308,000 American arrivals into Sydney last year and having a Qantas service flying to and from Dallas/Fort Worth will make it easier for more Americans to travel to Australia.
Sydney is Australia’s most popular destination for tourists and Sydney Airport is very attractive given that it is located only eight kilometres from the CBD and therefore close to global icons such as the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
