ASIG®, an industry leader in aviation services, announced today that Shell Aviation has awarded ASIG five HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environmental) Awards for the management and operation of Shell’s airport fuel operations within the United Kingdom as part of Shell’s Goal Zero Awards scheme. In 2010, ASIG received four awards for their 2009 performance. The criteria for Shell’s Goal Zero program are compliance to HSSE and operating standards, competence and training, corrective actions and maintaining zero injuries, spills and accidents. ASIG provides aircraft refueling and fuel facility management services for Shell Aviation’s airline customers at numerous airports in the United Kingdom.

Airplane being refuelledThis year ASIG’s London Luton (LTN) aircraft refueling and fuel facility operations exceeded last year’s performance by achieving the highest award level, Platinum. ASIG’s refueling operation at London Stansted (STN) was awarded Gold this year, while Birmingham (BHX) and Manchester (MAN) achieved Silver. London City (LCY), which ASIG commenced in July of 2010, achieved Bronze.
