Jet2.com today announced Ashley Cowen has been appointed as the new Operations Director across all eight Jet2.com bases.
As Operations Director, Ashley will have responsibility for ground operations, operations control and crewing across all Jet2.com bases. Ashley’s primary objective is to ensure Jet2.com continues to uphold its reputation for excellent service and passenger safety.
Ian Doubtfire, MD of Jet2.com said: “I am delighted to welcome Ashley Cowen to the position of Operations Director. With an enviable track record, and bringing with him a wealth of experience from previous roles in the aviation industry, I am confident that Ashley will prove a valuable addition to the team.”
Ashley has held a number of operational roles in the industry including at British Airways and CitiExpress, followed by a role as General Manager of Planning and Control at Heathrow Airport, which saw him heavily involved in improving operations at Terminal 5 following its opening in 2008. Ashley moves to Jet2.com from his role as Area General Manager for Asia, Pacific and Africa, where he had responsibility for sales, marketing and airport customer service operations for the regions.
Ashley said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Jet2.com. I am passionate about delivering high-quality customer service and I’m keen to uphold the sterling reputation Jet2.com has in the industry as a punctual, safe and friendly airline. I believe customers recognise good service and this leads to loyal passengers, who travel with you time and again.”
Ashley, who lives in Wilmslow with his wife and two children, is a Aeronautical Engineering graduate from the University of Manchester and also holds a MBA from Lancaster University. As a Welshman he enjoys rugby and regularly coaches mini rugby for children at his local club.
Jet2.com has scheduled leisure flights to city, sun and ski destinations from Manchester at friendly low fares. Jet2.com will operate over 100 flights per week this summer with passengers enjoying allocated comfortable leather seats, 22 kg baggage allowance and points for FREE Flights.
