Adani Airports Holdings Limited (AAHL) has announced the integration of Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram International Airports into the DigiYatra initiative, bringing the total number of AAHL airports offering DigiYatra to seven. This move aligns with AAHL’s commitment to enhancing passenger experience through seamless, contactless travel. DigiYatra, launched on 15 August 2023, was first introduced at Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Guwahati airports. Now, passengers at all seven AAHL airports can benefit from the convenience and security of this initiative.
Details on DigiYatra
Jeet Adani, Director of AAHL, commented, “Offering DigiYatra at Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram Airports underscores AAHL’s dedication to adopting innovative technologies that enhance passenger convenience and security. We have seen a significant rise in DigiYatra adoption, with some airports showing up to 37% daily utilisation.”
DigiYatra, which uses facial recognition technology, aims to provide passengers with a paperless, hassle-free travel experience. By eliminating the need for physical documents and streamlining airport entry through biometric verification, DigiYatra improves security while reducing wait times at checkpoints. The initiative also supports AAHL’s goal of transforming the aviation sector through cutting-edge technology.
Since its rollout, DigiYatra has experienced consistent growth, with an average month-on-month increase of 14% in transactions over the past nine months. Utilisation at AAHL airports ranges from 25% to 30%, with the highest single-day usage reaching 37.1% at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on 20 January 2025. This marks a significant milestone in the adoption of digital technologies in Indian aviation.
