Fraport Baltimore Partnership LLC has been awarded a contract by the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) to redevelop, renovate, lease, and manage retail, restaurant, and commercial services at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). The contract follows a competitive solicitation process by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), reflecting Fraport’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and value.
Details of the contract
“BWI Marshall Airport looks forward to working closely with Fraport Baltimore Partnership to deliver the airport’s ‘Easy Come, Easy Go’ excellent service our customers and passengers have come to know,” said Maryland Transportation Secretary Paul J. Wiedefeld. “Thanks to the Board of Public Works, approval of this contract will keep Maryland at the heart of BWI Marshall’s food and retail scene, grow the state’s economy and provide opportunities to uplift communities.”
Fraport USA CEO Sabine Trenk expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them, stating, “This contract represents not only a tremendous opportunity but also a profound responsibility to collaborate with MAA to develop world-class services that exceed expectations and set new standards for quality and customer experience.”
Fraport, a global airport operator with over 30 airports across four continents, brings decades of experience in airport concession management. Partnering with Ernst Valery Investment Corporation (EVI), Fraport is committed to fostering collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth at BWI.
“This new venture, Fraport Baltimore Partnership LLC, leverages Fraport’s history and EVI’s local development abilities, small business empowerment, and community engagement skills,” said EVI’s Ernst Valery. Fraport USA has been a pioneer in U.S. airport retail for over 25 years, driving competition and increasing passenger satisfaction. With this new contract, Fraport aims to elevate the BWI passenger experience and set new industry standards.
