London Heathrow Airport has launched the first stage of its VIP transformation with The Windsor by Heathrow, a £3 million refurbishment and rebrand of its private terminal. This marks a new chapter in luxury travel, offering discretion and world-class service to high-profile guests.

LHR pioneered airport VIP services in the 1960s, initially serving diplomats and royalty. The service expanded in 2008 with The Windsor Suite, later becoming commercially available in 2009. Now, The Windsor by Heathrow introduces a fresh identity for 2025, captured in a new collection by photographer Rankin. This rebrand is part of Heathrow’s £2.3 billion airport investment plan.

With prices starting at £3,812 (inc. VAT) for up to three guests, The Windsor offers a seamless “door-to-door” service, including an all-electric BMW chauffeur from home to aircraft. Heathrow was recently awarded Best Private Airport Experience by Forbes Travel Guide. The most popular destinations include Doha, Riyadh, Dubai, Los Angeles, and New York, with key airlines such as Etihad, Qatar, BA, American Airlines, and Emirates. First and Business Class passengers can use The Windsor regardless of airline or terminal.

Charlotte Burns, VIP Lead at Heathrow, said:
“The Windsor by Heathrow is more than just a rebrand, it’s a testament to our heritage in pioneering luxury travel. From our carefully curated interiors to our exceptional service, we provide our guests with an unparalleled experience that reflects the finest of British hospitality.”

Luxury interiors & private art gallery

Designed by Oliver Burns Studio, The Windsor features eight private lounges with bespoke furnishings crafted by local artisans. The design blends British luxury with contemporary elegance, incorporating Axminster carpets and collaborations with brands like Tom Dixon and Commune.

The suite doubles as an exclusive art gallery, showcasing pieces from David Hockney, Tracey Emin, Francis Bacon, and Andy Warhol. Guests can purchase artworks via QR codes, with the collection refreshed every two months. The current selection includes Nola (White Rain 2008) by Banksy and Diamond Dust Show (1980) by Warhol, curated by Tanya Baxter Contemporary.

Tanya Baxter said:
“The carefully selected art pieces channel the essence of British creativity and elegance. We hope these works elevate the experience for every guest who walks through the doors.”

British brands & fine dining by Jason Atherton

The Windsor champions British brands, including luxury self-care label Commune and fragrance brand AUGUST&PIERS, which is crafting a bespoke scent to mark the rebrand.

Michelin-starred Jason Atherton curates the exclusive menu, including a new signature dish: English butter shortbread with praline cream, Earl Grey tea ice cream, custard sauce, and charred mandarin.

Atherton commented:
“Every dish is crafted to reflect the sophistication and quality of British luxury, ensuring guests’ dining experience is nothing short of exceptional.”
