Salvador Bahia Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, was one of the big winners of the Latin American Award for Excellence and Innovation in PR, the Jatobá Trophy 2024, for the Blue Trip initiative. Champion in three categories – Case of the Year, ESG and Case Nordeste, the project provides a practical and guided experience of the air travel process, including steps such as check-in, security inspection and boarding, seeking to reduce anxiety, promote social autonomy and facilitate future journeys for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
“Receiving these three recognitions by Viagem Azul is a great honour and reinforces our commitment to inclusion and diversity. Projects like this demonstrate how the partnership between institutions and the airport industry can create a positive impact, helping atypical people and families to feel more confident and prepared for future travel experiences.” highlights Daniela Franco.
Details of the ceremony
The Jatobá PR 2024 award ceremony took place 2 December 2024, at the Renaissance Hotel, in São Paulo. At the event, the winners of each of the 34 categories, the Organisations of the Year and the Cases of the Year were announced. In all, 340 works from 142 organisations competed this year.
Carried out in partnership with APAE, the State Reference Centre for People with Autism Spectrum Disorder (CRE-TEA) and the Afetto Institute, the project highlights VINCI Airports’ commitment to social inclusion and diversity. During a day of immersion, young people experience the complete route of a passenger, in addition to having access to the aircraft yard. The initiative reinforces the role of Salvador Bahia Airport in promoting a more accessible and welcoming environment.
For the Communication Manager of VINCI Airports do Brasil, Daniela Franco, being highlighted in the Jatobá PR award, one of the most important in the country in this segment, is a recognition of the work of professionals and partners at Salvador Airport, giving visibility to Communication actions that generate social impact and contribute to the transformation of public spaces into more welcoming places.
