Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) continues to solidify its reputation as an innovative, passenger-focused hub committed to sustainability. As of 5 December 2024, a new Bike Corner is operational at Terminal 2 arrivals—a dedicated space for cycling and bikepacking enthusiasts.
Details of the sustainability plans
This unique facility offers travellers the convenience of assembling their bicycles safely and efficiently upon arrival. Fully equipped with professional tools and all necessary gear, the Bike Corner provides a practical solution for those arriving with dismantled bikes.
Cycling represents more than a mode of transport; it embodies sustainable mobility and an active lifestyle. The Bike Corner forms part of SEA Milan Airports’ broader strategy to embrace green solutions and promote eco-friendly travel. Thanks to its prime location, cyclists can begin exploring the picturesque trails and breathtaking landscapes around Malpensa immediately.
Supported by #VareseDoYouBike, a cycling tourism project championed by the Varese Chamber of Commerce, the initiative offers access to 45 pre-mapped routes via the Komoot platform. Covering over 2,000 km, these trails cater to all abilities, from family-friendly rides to challenging routes for experienced cyclists.
Available free of charge and open 24/7, the Bike Corner reinforces MXP’s commitment to environmental sustainability while meeting the growing demand for cycling tourism.
