Denver International Airport delights passengers with Santa’s Layover Lounge, a festive pop-up featuring holiday-themed food, drinks, surprise appearances, and a partnership with Make-A-Wish to spread holiday joy.
Christmas festivities begin at Denver International Airport (DEN) with the opening of Santa’s Layover Lounge, the world’s first airport holiday pop-up bar.
“DEN has decked the halls this holiday season with a special, Christmas-themed pop-up bar featuring holiday-themed food, drinks, surprise visitors, and more,” DEN CEO Phil Washington said. “Passengers in need of holiday cheer as they travel this season should look no further than Santa’s Layover Lounge. It’s the most wonderful time of year, after all.”
What will passengers get to do at Santa’s Layover Lounge?
Santa’s Layover Lounge is a partnership between DEN and Skyport Hospitality. It is located on Concourse B, Mezzanine Level and will feature hand-crafted holiday cocktails, a hot chocolate bar and a holiday-themed food menu. Some of the highlights include Santa’s pizza shop – featuring various reindeer-named pizzas like the Prancer with brie spread, fig jam, prosciutto and arugula. Passengers can also enjoy a traditional dessert such as pumpkin pie or a holiday cocktail like the Polar Expresso Martini or the Winter Wonderland Cosmo.
“Selecting Denver International Airport to host my first-ever layover lounge was a no-brainer. Its geographic location, unique offerings and amazing customer service really are ideal. I hope travellers take the time to enjoy a whimsical holiday treat between flights and think of me while enjoying a cocoa as I make my annual trip across the globe,” said Santa Claus, aka Kris Kringle, aka Saint Nick.
Skyport Hospitality will partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation in their mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Through this collaboration, Skyport will match every guest contribution dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000, amplifying the impact and bringing joy to children and families who need it most.
Familiar holiday characters will make surprise appearances and visitors can enjoy their favourite holiday music in a modern playful holiday themed space. The pop-up experience will be open from November 19, 2024, until January 5. 2025 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
