With an ongoing investment in developing the passenger experience at Gatwick Airport, Daktronics has pioneered state-of-the-art rotation screens in order to help Gatwick create an inviting environment where passengers can relax and shop while they wait for their flights.

Installed in both North and South terminals, the screens are pole mounted and ceiling hanging, rotating at a gentle pace, slow enough to allow you to enjoy the images and video, but quick enough to be perceived by the eye as a moving object. The installation is the first of its kind in an airport.

Daktronics insists the mission critical advertising displays provide the high quality required to represent top brands.

“Service and maintenance in this space must not disrupt airport operation, so we provided a solution that is future-proof, reliable and virtually maintenance free with a 10-year lifespan,” said Daktronics MD Patrick Halliwell.

Airports are prime sites for the deployment of digital advertising. Not only is its audience affluent, influential and technology early adopters, but they also have time on their hands before their flight to be influenced and go shopping.

Today some airports generate a large part of their revenue through their digital advertising.

Brands that are seen within an airport environment are synonymous with high quality, an elite product. The screen in which they are portrayed can only reflect that through its quality and resolution.
