Airports across Canada celebrated the inaugural Airport Workers Day on the 26 June. The day celebrates and recognises the extensive workforce that play a part in aviation and airport management across the country.

The celebration was a coordinated national event, hosted by the Canadian Airport Council (CAC), in collaboration with 35 Canadian airports. The event demonstrated appreciation for airport staff with in-person events taking place throughout the day.

CAC honoured five workers with national awards, drawing attention to the important role they play in keeping the Canadian economy moving.

Recipients of the Canadian Airports Award for 2024 included:

“By celebrating the dynamic and diverse people who work in our airports, we aim to shine a light on the many career opportunities that are possible within Canada’s aviation sector. Airport Workers Day represents our gratitude for the more than 200,000 people who work, day in and day out, to keep Canadians and our economy moving,” said Monette Pasher, President of the Canadian Airports Council.
