iGA Istanbul Airport is welcoming Ramadan with its passengers.
The joy of Ramadan at iGA Istanbul Airport.
iGA Istanbul Airport, one of the world’s most important global hubs, is welcoming Ramadan with its passengers. The “Ramadan Village”, set up in the terminal, takes those who reminisce about the “good old Ramadan days” on a nostalgic journey. Throughout Ramadan, the blessed month eagerly anticipated by the Islamic world each year, various events will be hosted at the airside area of the terminal.
Welcoming millions of guests from around the world every year, iGA Istanbul Airport aims to introduce the culture of Ramadan to the world. The Ramadan Village, which was opened in the airside area of the terminal, was designed to bring the joy of Ramadan to guests, especially children. The characters of the Ramadan Village, dressed in traditional costumes, offer an enjoyable travel experience to the passengers who are waiting for their flights. Families with children can also spend time at the funfair set up on the departures floor, with a carousel, Ferris wheel, gondola and trampoline.
During Ramadan, the month dedicated to spiritual reflection, unity and solidarity, those who were affected by last year’s devastating earthquake are not forgotten. Special iftar packages prepared by famous chef Ebru Baybara Demir are served to passengers daily during iftar. The ingredients in the menu, which features flavours unique to the South-eastern Anatolia Region, are supplied from producers in the earthquake zone. Throughout the month of Ramadan, iftar packages, prepared in collaboration with TRU Hospitality Services and Retail Group, the company responsible for managing the dining areas in the iGA Istanbul Airport lounges, offer a proper meal to passengers who break their fast at the airport.
Guests who travel from the airport are also offered the opportunity to attend musical performances and art workshops, such as marbling, wood painting, and calligraphy. During the month of Ramadan, stages set up in various areas at the airport, workshops, and play areas share the values of unity, community, and solidarity with both local and foreign guests.
You can find detailed information about the events that will take place at iGA Istanbul Airport during the month of Ramadan on the “Ramadan at Istanbul Airport” page.
