Largest American Express lounge in Nordic region to date has opened at Stockholm Arlanda

The largest American Express lounge in the Nordic region to date has opened at Stockholm Arlanda.

The doors opened to American Express’ newly renovated, double-sized lounge at the Stockholm Arlanda Airport’s Marketplace in Terminal 5. With its almost 700 square meters of Nordic-inspired design, the lounge, under the direction of star restaurateur Pontus Frithiof, is American Express’s largest in the Nordic region to date.

It was at the end of March last year that American Express temporarily closed down the popular Amex Lounge by Pontus at Stockholm Arlanda for extensive renovations. In the meantime, members have been welcomed to the Amex Pop Up Lounge at Gate Area F in Terminal 5, but it was time to once again open the doors to completely renovated, twice as large premises.

With almost 700 square meters, the new American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof is American Express’s largest lounge in the Nordic region to date, with a design inspired by Scandinavian nature, where Nordic beauty is reflected in everything from the choice of materials and colours to furniture – a theme that also forms the basis for the design of the new Marketplace and Arlanda’s other terminal sections.

American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof will be run by the renowned star restaurateur Pontus Frithiof – the face of Nordrest’s fine dining restaurant La Girafe by Pontus Frithiof, which opened at Marketplaceen in March, and the Italian-American Little Italy, which will open its doors in the autumn of 2024, also under the auspices of Marketplace in Nordrest. Pontus Frithiof has composed the lounge’s menu with dishes such as traditional shrimp sandwiches, classic salmon salad and various hot and vegetarian options. At a beautifully set table, American Express members will also be offered a wide range of drinks that have been carefully selected to complement the menu – everything from locally brewed beer, carefully selected wines and champagne to several tasty non-alcoholic options.

American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof is open Monday to Friday from 05:00 to 06:00, Saturday from 05:00 to 15:00 and Sunday from 05:00 and 06:00 and welcomes all American Express Centurion and Platinum members.
