International Airport Review’s Airport Security 2015 conference and exhibition was a huge success earlier this week, bringing together 250 top-level global airport and airline security managers and industry decision-makers in Barcelona to discuss how airports can plan and prepare their security operations at a time when the threat of attacks to the world’s aviation industry is very prominent.
High on the agenda for Airport Security 2015 was many pertinent and timely topics, including: developments in passenger screening; how to identify anomalies in human behaviour via crowd scanning; the use of biometric technology; how to manage insider threats; enhancing checkpoint and border controls; and developing cyber-security strategies.
With speakers from Gatwick, Miami, Brussels, Geneva, Copenhagen, and Dallas-Fort Worth airports, organisations such as the UK Civil Aviation Authority, the U.S. Department of homeland Security, plus vendors including Qinetiq and Vanderlande, the two-day conference gave a perfect platform to learn from each other’s experiences, plus the exhibition area allowed the event’s sponsors to showcase how their technology and services can be of benefit to the industry.
The event was co-located with the ever successful Airport IT event, creating one fantastic exhibition space for security and IT professionals around the world to come together and learn from each other’s experiences.
With added highlights including panel discussions, roundtables and a fast-paced speed networking (and tapas!) session, the event was a huge success. A full event-review will follow soon, and International Airport Review would like to thank all speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates for their attendance.
