Recording a new milestone in the Airport’s history…
The Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) – welcomed over 700,000 passengers during August 2014, a first in QAIA traffic history.
Passenger traffic (PAX) increased by 13.2% to reach 785,685 PAX while aircraft movements (ACM) rose by 12% to 7,242 ACM, as opposed to August last year. Since the beginning of 2014 and up until August, year-to-date PAX and ACM statistics surged by 12.1% and 9.1% respectively compared to August 2013, registering at 4,939,973 PAX and 49,626 ACM.
“This unprecedented achievement was mainly led by an increase in passenger traffic to and from Turkey, Egypt and the GCC region. We look forward to building on this new benchmark reaching even greater heights in the future,” stated AIG CEO Kjeld Binger
