The Sharjah Airport Authority has, once again, been awarded Sharjah Excellence Award for Sharjah Corporate Social Responsibility for its commitment to community and sustainable developments.
The Sharjah Airport Authority (the Authority) has shown once again its commitment to excellence and leadership in Sharjah’s sustainable development after it earned the Sharjah Excellence Award for Sharjah Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), in recognition for its responsible practices involving the employees, the community, and the environment.
The Authority received the award during a gala awards ceremony organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
His Excellency (H.E.) Sheikh Faisal bin Saoud Al Qassimi, Director of Sharjah Airport Authority received the award from H.E. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI during the event that was held on 23 February 2022 at SCCI headquarters.
H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority commented: “We are proud of the Authority’s latest achievement, which is testament to our commitment to adopt responsible practices and engage in social and environmental initiatives and programmes. These efforts are aimed at further enhancing the sustainability and quality of life in Sharjah and the UAE, in line with our time-honoured values with respect to the society, the environment, as well as in consideration to the needs of investors, partners, clients, and suppliers.”
He added: “Our programmes are consistent with our mission to provide excellent services while ensuring a safe travel experience for everyone. Through innovation, Sharjah Airport (SHJ) has been significantly contributing to the growth and development of the emirate, driving various social responsibility campaigns that empower the wider community.”
H.E. Al Midfa further noted the Authority’s latest achievement is a result of conscious efforts to maintain the excellence and quality of its services while ensuring that these efforts make positive impact on the community. The Authority has integrated social responsibility and sustainability in its various operations and innovative services, providing passengers with greater comfort and ease while ensuring it meets the highest international standards.
The Authority is also known and recognised for its green initiatives and has been awarded the Sharjah Green Award in 2018 and the Sharjah corporate Social Responsibility Award in 2019, and today’s successes only strengthens its position as among the five leading airports in the region and one of the most preferred stops for global travel and tourism.
The Sharjah Airport Authority engages in a diverse range of sustainable projects and social initiatives within the workplace, the environment, and the community. It also promotes institutional partnerships and work with other organisations to implement series of initiatives, projects, and activities related to sports, health, education, and the environment. It also engages in voluntary and charity work, humanitarian assistance, and promotes the celebrations of national and international occasions. The Authority works to ensure that it maintains the highest standards of safety and professional health for its staff and customers, achieving the highest levels of satisfaction from its stakeholders.
