Stansted Airport opens new training facility

M.A.G has underlined its commitment to the career development of its staff by unveiling a new £500,000 training facility at Stansted Airport.

The projects bring the total investment at the airport by M.A.G to £260m over the next five years.

Known as The Flight Deck, the 550 square-metre hub located on the top floor of the airport’s HQ, Enterprise House, will provide a dedicated area for staff to train and develop their skills for years to come.

The announcement adds to a raft of other projects already underway across the airport, which include a major £80m project to upgrade security, the departure lounge and retail areas of the terminal. The projects bring the total investment at the airport by M.A.G to £260m over the next five years.

Housing specialist security training areas, classrooms, IT suites, video conferencing and offices, the training hub can also be hired by external organisations and companies wishing to hold conferences, meetings and events at the airport.  Able to accommodate groups of many sizes the rooms offer a unique setting with views of the runway and control tower.

The airport’s experienced training and development team will also use the new facilities to offer a range of Government approved aviation security courses designed for airports, airlines, the armed forces and private security firms. Delegates can study for the Aviation Security Manager Certificate which covers a range of modules from firearms and dangerous goods to leading and motivating staff.
