M.A.G’s Commercial Director for Cargo, Graeme Ferguson, has been named 2014 Sieff Future Leader at the Business in the Community’s (BITC) Responsible Business Awards.
Graeme, responsible for cargo and general aviation at M.A.G, picked up the prize in recognition of his crucial role driving growth in the cargo business and championing sustainability across the group’s four airports. As a result of winning, he will represent the region as a Sieff Ambassador, and talk to business leaders across the area to help them develop their sustainability policies.

In accepting the Award, Graeme said: “I am absolutely delighted and hugely honoured to have won the 2014 Sieff Future Leader Award. M.A.G is genuinely committed to ensuring that its business operates in a responsible fashion and fully engaged in working with the East of England to develop a positive and effective sustainability strategy that delivers real value and change to benefit communities.”

Stansted Airport’s Managing Director, Andrew Harrison, said: “This is a great moment for Graeme, for M.A.G and for Stansted. I was delighted to be at the ceremony and to be among the first to congratulate him on this outstanding achievement. This Award recognises his potential as an up and coming leader within the business and his work with our community relations team to drive forward education and outreach initiatives as part of our sustainability programme. Everyone at Stansted is over the moon for Graeme.”

The Sieff Award recognises the next generation of business leadership, in partnership with Marks & Spencer. Recognising individuals driving sustainability values into the heart of the business to help transform the way we do business in the future, the Sieff Award will provide a new leadership programme which offers the Sieff winners an unparalleled platform to inspire, challenge and drive the debate with BITC’s current leadership.

The East of England Responsible Business Awards Gala Dinner took place on Tuesday, June 17, at Quendon Hall, just outside Saffron Walden.
