Stansted Airport job fair

• Over 100 airport job vacancies on offer
• 20 airport companies attending
• Free admission and free parking

Over 100 job vacancies will be on offer at an employment fair being held at Stansted Airport next week (Tuesday, October 15).

Jobseekers are invited to the event organised by the Stansted Employment and Skills Academy which will see over 20 businesses showcase 100 vacancies on offer across the airport. Organisations which have confirmed their attendance on the day include World Duty Free, American Apparel, Flightworx and the Radisson Blu Hotel. Representatives from the Academy will also be on hand to discuss job opportunities and provide career advice and support to help jobseekers boost their skills.

Stansted Airport’s Head of Public Affairs, Chris Wiggan, said:

“Stansted plays a crucial role in helping the local economy grow, creating thousands of jobs and opportunities for the communities and businesses around the airport. We are the biggest single site employer in the East of England with 10,200 people working across 190 companies, and are delighted to again organise a Job Fair that showcases the diverse and exciting range of career opportunities that exist locally.”

One of the many benefits of working at Stansted is the wide range of public transport discounts available to staff. The Airport Travel Card offers significant discounts for staff to use public transport, including rail, bus and coach fares. The airport also operates a very successful staff car share scheme, which is one of the largest of its kind in Europe.

Since 2007 Stansted Airport has donated over £300,000 to the Stansted Employment and Skills Academy. The funding helps to build on the existing work of the Academy and to develop a wider range of services and outreach activities. This is part of a long term commitment by the airport to support local employment and training opportunities. The Academy hosted three job fairs in 2012 helping fill 485 vacancies across the airport.
