September saw Chopin Airport pass the one million passenger mark, making it yet another busiest ever month for the airport…
Chopin Airport handled nearly 1,117,000 passengers in September 2013, a 24.8% jump year on year, marking the third consecutive record month in the history of the airport.
Just like June, July and August, September too saw Chopin Airport pass the one million passenger mark, making it yet another busiest ever month for the airport (the previous best September result was in 2011, when 997,000 passengers used the airport).
Traditional and low-cost airlines carried 886,800 and 230,600 passengers respectively, with non-schedule traffic figures reaching 185,400. 1,006,000 travelled on international flights (+30.8%) and 110,000 domestically (-11.7%).
Since the beginning of 2013, Chopin Airport has welcomed nearly 8.5 million passengers, a 10.9% increase year on year, including 7.6 million travellers on international flights (+19%) and 846,500 domestically (-31.2%). The number of passenger aircraft movements totalled 97,200, compared to over 100,000 in the corresponding nine months of 2008 (previous best year)
