Airports Council International – North America welcomes PHL’s chief executive…
PHILADELPHIA – Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA), a leading global aviation organization, has tapped Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) CEO Mark Gale to join its Board of Directors. Gale was officially named to the post on September 25th at the ACI-NA Annual Conference & Exhibition in San Jose, California.
Gale, whose aviation career started in the mid-1980s and was named Airport CEO in 2009, is serving on a Board composed mainly of the top executives at airports across the U.S. and Canada. ACI-NA, based in Washington, D.C., is the largest of ACI’s five geographical regions across the globe. ACI-NA represents local, regional, and state governing bodies that own and operate commercial airports in the United States and Canada. More than 350 aviation-related businesses are also members of ACI-NA, according to the organization’s website.
The organization’s mission is to “advocate policies and provide services that strengthen the ability of commercial airports to serve their passengers, customers and communities,” according to ACI-NA. The organization’s work includes advocacy, promotion, communications, research, networking, education, an annual conference and exhibition and annual contests and recognition.
ACI-NA is the North American branch of Airports Council International, a non-profit organization whose main purpose is to “advance the interests of airports and to promote excellence in airport management and operations.”
“I am honored to be joining the Board of Directors of one of the most prestigious organizations in the global aviation community,” Gale said. “I am looking forward to working with my colleagues throughout North America in furthering the ACI-NA mission to provide the finest service to the traveling public, our stakeholders and our communities.”
In addition to serving on the ACI-NA Board of Directors, Gale is also a member of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Airport Executives, the Aviation Council of Pennsylvania as well as the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Board of Directors Executive Committee and the U.S. Travel Board of Directors.
