London City’s new Chief Executive will be Declan Collier, currently CEO of the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA). The appointments will be effective from early in 2012.

“We are delighted to have secured as our new CEO somebody of Declan Collier’s calibre and experience,” said Roy Griffins, Chairman of LCY. “Declan has led DAA through a transformational period in terms of its infrastructure and business culture. He is a respected voice within the aviation industry through his involvement with Airports Council International (ACI), where he is currently President, ACI Europe.

“At the same time we are delighted to be retaining Richard Gooding’s extensive knowledge and experience on the London City Board. LCY underwent significant development during Richard’s outstandingly successful tenure as CEO. The airport enjoyed a four-fold increase in traffic to more than three million passengers a year.”

Richard Gooding commented: “I have enjoyed immensely my time at LCY, where I have been supported by an excellent team, blue chip customers, forward thinking local communities and committed shareholders. Together we have created a special niche, high quality business and played a vital role in London’s economy as well as the regeneration of the Thames Gateway. I am very pleased that I have been invited to maintain my involvement in the business from the perspective of the Board.”

Declan Collier became Chief Executive of the Dublin Airport Authority in 2005, following a career with ExxonMobil, during which he held various senior managerial and executive positions in Ireland and abroad.

Under his stewardship, DAA delivered a €1.2 billion capital investment programme at Dublin Airport including the flagship new Terminal 2, which opened successfully in late 2010 and which moved Dublin airport into the top five airports within its peer group of 5-25 million passenger airports.

Declan Collier said: “I am really looking forward to my new role at London City, and to playing my part in the future growth and development of the airport following the great work carried out by Richard Gooding and his team.”
