Chopin Airport handled over 10.6 thousand tonnes of cargo in the first quarter of 2011, a 23.2% increase on the corresponding period last year.

During the first three months of 2011, the airport handled a total of 10 654.3 tonnes of cargo, including 10 494.6 tonnes in international traffic (a rise of 23.5%) and 159.6 tonnes domestically (up by 11.4%).

The most popular destinations in terms of the volume of cargo carried included: Cologne, Leipzig, Chicago, Seoul and Shanghai, with the biggest cargo carriers being: LOT Polish Airlines, UPS Airlines, European Air Transport, Sprint Air and Air Contractors.

Chopin Airport is Poland’s largest airport. In 2010, the airport served more than 8.7 million passengers.
