The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) is trialling a new customised screening line at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB), the first airport in Canada to do so. This innovative screening line is designed for airports with limited space, enabling the use of advanced technology while enhancing the passenger experience.
The new line, known as screening line 6, offers the benefits of a CATSA Plus system, allowing up to three passengers to place their belongings in screening bins simultaneously. Travellers using this line will also benefit from CT X-ray technology, which means they no longer need to remove permitted liquids, aerosols, gels (100 mL or less), medical devices, and large electronics such as laptops from their carry-on bags.
This installation is part of CATSA’s national plan to deploy CT X-ray technology across several airports over the coming years. CATSA is committed to improving passenger experience while maintaining the highest security standards at Canada’s airports.
“We are proud to be the first airport in Canada to test the brand-new CATSA Plus personalised lane, equipped with CT X-ray technology. Thanks to this initiative, travellers will experience an even smoother and faster passage through the security checkpoint, just in time for spring break. Our team is constantly committed to enhancing the experience and service provided to passengers departing from YQB, and this project, carried out in close collaboration with CATSA, is an excellent example of that.” Siad Stéphane Poirier, President and CEO of Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport.
