Ocupa AeroCultural ended its first edition on Thursday 30 November at Salvador Bahia Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, after more than 20 activities and presentations that celebrated cultural diversity during the month of Black Consciousness. This innovative event brought a rich diversity of artistic expressions, involving musical genres such as axé, pop, samba, reggae and other art forms, such as music, dance, Afro parade, graffiti, painting and fashion.
An unprecedented action that gained prominence among rap and trap lovers was the installation of a recording studio by Nine Four Records in the passenger terminal, offering opportunities to emerging talents and giving visibility to musical genres originating from black communities.
Approximately 20,000 people pass through the airport daily, demonstrating the significant impact of this intervention on passengers throughout Brazil and the world. “In addition to highlighting the richness of Afro-Brazilian culture, giving prominence to local artists, Ocupa Aero Cultural this pioneering initiative promoted a unique experience for visitors to the terminal,” says Daniela Franco, Communication Manager at Salvador Bahia Airport.
The project was carried out by Salvador Bahia Airport in partnership with Instituto Afetto and is now part of the annual calendar of activities focused on diversity and inclusion. It is worth mentioning that the Airport, as a member of the VINCI Airports network, has as one of its main commitments the construction of diverse and inclusive places and has the recognition of the Ethnic-Racial Seal of the City of Salvador, demonstrating its continuous effort with initiatives aimed at diversity and racial equity throughout the year.
